Youth and Adult Herbal Fire Starter and Wildflower Pressing Workshop

Celebrate the colours, textures, and scents of the natural world through a creative hands-on workshop for youth and adults. Participants will create their own herbal fire starters using dried flowers, herbs, and natural materials while exploring the beauty and usefulness of plants. This activity offers a unique way to connect with nature, learn about seasonal botanicals, and create a practical item to enjoy at home or gift to someone special.

Participants will also discover the art of wildflower pressing, learning simple techniques to preserve the beauty of flowers and foliage. Through mindful observation and creativity, participants will explore ways to transform natural materials into keepsakes, artwork, and meaningful crafts. No experience is needed—just curiosity, creativity, and an appreciation for the natural world.

Sunday, July 26th  3:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Pre-registration is required.
 
During this workshop, participants will:

• • Create a handmade herbal fire starter using dried botanicals and natural materials
  • Explore the colours, textures, and seasonal beauty of plants through hands-on activities
  • Learn basic wildflower pressing techniques and how to preserve flowers and foliage
  • Create a pressed botanical keepsake to take home
  • Discover creative ways to use dried plants and pressed flowers in crafts and everyday life

This is a drop-in event, so arrive whenever works best for your schedule. Please allow approximately 30-45+ minutes to complete the activity.

Location

Please park in the main parking lot of Five Oaks Centre (1 Bethel Road, Paris). Walk the short distance to the activity tent.
