Celebrate the beauty of summer with a creative, nature-inspired workshop for youth and adults. Whether you attend on your own, with a friend, as a couple, or as a youth-adult pair, you'll enjoy a relaxing hands-on experience creating with natural materials.
Participants will craft a herbal fire starter using beeswax, dried flowers, and herbs, then learn the basics of flower pressing and a pressed botanical keepsake to take home.
Perfect for nature lovers, gardeners, artists, and curious beginners, this workshop offers an opportunity to explore the colours, textures, and scents of seasonal plants while creating something beautiful and practical.
This workshop is co-facilitated by Kailey Stewart of ecothera and Amy Sandy of Longfish Gardens, bringing together a shared passion for nature, gardening, and creative community experiences.
Participants will:
- Create a handmade herbal fire starter
- Learn basic flower-pressing techniques
- Make a pressed flower keepsake
- Explore creative uses for dried flowers and pressed plants
Drop-In Format: Arrive anytime during the event window and participate at your own pace. Most participants will require approximately 30–45 minutes to complete the activities.
Parking & Arrival: Please park in the main parking lot of Five Oaks Centre and walk the short distance to the activity tent.
